WHO IS JAMES MATLOCK
As a candidate for the Hutto Independent School District Board of Trustees, I am committed to increasing the academic outcomes of our students and finding pathways for every student to be successful. Success looks different for every student! As a parent, I understand the importance of providing all students with high-quality and high-rigor education. The district's challenges of facing rapid growth require proactive decisions, not just for today but the vision of what Hutto ISD will look like in the next ten years and beyond.
MY BACKGROUND
I have lived in Hutto for eight years and actively participated in volunteer activities. I championed dads to get involved in the classrooms through WATCH D.O.G.S and the PTA. Additionally, I am the Chair of the district’s Bonds Oversight Committee, President of Large School Districts for the Central Texas School Board Association, Special Education Parent Advisory Council, and a City of Hutto’s Library Advisory Board member. I have a Bachelors Degree in Finance Management and a Masters Degree in Accounting. My professional experience includes public finance accounting, which gives me a strong understanding of financial planning and resource allocation. I am committed to using my education and experience to ensure that the district can provide the best possible education for all students.
